Fleet management for African operators

Understand what your fleet costs you, and why.

Bluestream runs on the phone your driver already carries. There is nothing to buy and nothing to fit. It turns the readings they take at each shift into a record you can check, measures every vehicle against its own history, and tells you whether a rising cost is wear, the load, the route, or the day something changed.

Free for up to 8 vehicles. No card, no payment gateway.

  • No trackers to buy or fit
  • Works with no signal
  • Running the day you sign up

Costs go up. The reason is rarely obvious.

A rising fuel bill has plenty of possible causes: an engine past its best, heavier loads, longer routes, worse traffic, and now and then fuel that goes missing. On a monthly total they all look identical. Managed as one average, a fleet hides both the vehicle that needs a workshop and the driver who is doing better than anyone realises.

Paper logs cannot be checked

A figure copied into a notebook at the end of a shift has nothing to compare it against later. An honest entry and a mistyped one look exactly the same.

Fleet averages hide the detail

Judging every vehicle by one fleet-wide figure penalises whoever was assigned the oldest truck, and lets a real fault on a newer one pass unnoticed.

Coverage is patchy

Systems built around a permanent data connection stop working in the places where fleets do most of their work.

Why this instead of a tracker

Almost every fleet system on the market begins with a box you buy, import, and fit to each vehicle. This one begins with a phone your driver is already carrying.

Nothing to buy, import, or install

No trackers, no wiring, no engineer visits, no SIM card and no subscription for every vehicle. A driver installs an app and works the same day. Putting a new vehicle on the system costs you nothing.

It keeps working where trackers go blind

A live tracker needs a signal to be worth anything, so it loses exactly the journeys you most want a record of. Bluestream keeps the whole shift on the phone and catches up when the driver comes back into coverage.

It gives you the cause, not just the number

Anything can tell you fuel use went up. The question you actually need answered is whether it is the vehicle wearing out, the load, the route, or the day something changed. That answer is the product.

Few alerts, each one worth opening

Every vehicle is judged against its own record rather than a fleet average, so the oldest truck is not flagged forever for being the oldest truck. What survives is short enough that you read all of it.

How it works

From a driver’s entry to the summary waiting for you in the morning.

1

Drivers log from a phone

Odometer and fuel level at the start and end of each shift, plus the load being carried. The app saves everything on the device and syncs when a signal appears, so a driver out of coverage is never stopped from working.

2

Every reading is checked on arrival

Readings that cannot be right are caught immediately: a refuel larger than the tank, fuel falling while the vehicle sat still, an odometer that went backwards. Most turn out to be typing slips, and fixing them early keeps everything built on top worth trusting.

3

The engine learns each vehicle

Overnight, every vehicle is compared against its own history rather than a manufacturer figure. What is normal for a fifteen-year-old truck is not normal for a new pickup, and treating them alike produces alerts nobody reads.

What it looks for

Every finding names the vehicle, the day, and the readings behind it, so you can judge it yourself.

01

Distance that does not match the trail

Recorded kilometres compared against the GPS trail from the same shift. Where there was no coverage the shift is marked unverifiable rather than suspicious, because a missing signal proves nothing either way.

02

Fuel use above this vehicle’s own normal

Consumption measured against what this vehicle has actually achieved over time, worked out so that one unusual shift cannot drag the baseline along with it.

03

Refuels away from your usual stations

The places your fleet buys fuel emerge from the data on their own, with no list for you to maintain. A purchase well away from all of them is flagged so it can be confirmed, and often it turns out to be a detour or a breakdown.

04

Slow wear, or a sudden change

A gradual decline over several weeks usually means the vehicle needs a service. The same loss appearing on one identifiable day points to something that changed that day. Bluestream separates the two instead of raising the same alert for both.

05

A fair comparison between drivers

Drivers are only ever compared on the same vehicle, so nobody is marked down for being handed the oldest van. The load carried is recorded each shift for the same reason.

06

Service due, by distance driven

Maintenance intervals tracked against real odometer movement, and raised again after every interval rather than once and then forgotten.

Built for the conditions here

Nothing is lost in a dead zone

A driver with no bars is never blocked from starting, finishing, or logging a shift. The phone holds it and sends it on later, complete.

French and English

The whole system, not just this page. Drivers and administrators each work in the language they use.

Light on data

Positions are sampled by distance travelled rather than by the clock, so a parked vehicle costs nothing and a working one costs very little.

Your data stays yours

Your records are visible to your organisation and nobody else. That separation is enforced deep in the system, not by whichever screen someone happens to open.
